| Customer Reviews: Average, but would recommend... June 14, 2010 C-town (Netherlands) I'm going to make this easier to read. I like this stroller but didn't realize how bulky it still is after closing it. I like to take my stroller on Muni in SF but apparently, this stroller doesn't make it easy to.
Cons:
- Fold is Bulky, Quite Heavy (more than 12 lbs!)
- Doesn't stand on it's own and makes storing it in restaurants or on bus difficult as wheels keep sliding. Unless you lock the wheels prior to getting on/off the bus!
- Expensive!
- Worry about traveling and breaking it by Airline. Is it worth the extra worry? Like having a nice car...where should I park it?
- Sunshade is still too short (need to get extender)
- No cupholders and other accessories for the price
- Basket hard to access and almost impossible when seat is reclined fully
Pros:
- Excellent Construction
- Easy maneuverability, single handed
- Comfy seat, baby can sit up straighter in this than the BJ City Mini
- Recline is nice but not one handed
- 55 lb weight limit
But, I would recommend this stroller despite the average rating! And if the Pros outweight the Cons, this is a good stroller for you, too :). I had definitely considered the Baby G Luxe but it only goes to a 40 lb weight limit. But is lighter and stands on it's own for a lower price!
Seriously not worth the $$$ April 11, 2010 Mandi (Lahaina Hawaii) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What I like... Can steer with 1 hand, looks nice, lightweight. What I dont like.. Wheels seem cheeply made, had to return 2 strollers because of this. No cup holder come on $245 and no cup holder. The wheels will rup yucky dirt and who knows what else on the sunshade when you close the stroller down.. you can purchase for an extra charge wheel covers though. Too much metal criss cross in back makes it hard to put something there. If you put something on handles the stroller will fall back if not enough weight in front. Sunshade is not large enough when you pull down some flimsy material falls..??? Ummmm you have to make sure you get that extra piece of material to cover hinges so you dont chop your childs finger off.. what the heck returned mine had it for more then a month very turned off by the hole thing
You can't do better! March 27, 2010 R. Moldovan (Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a new mom and I, like all new moms, research everything and ask 7 other women plus a pediatrician before I make basic purchases for my child. I researched my eyeballs out on umbrella strollers, spent countless hours dragging my husband around Babies-R-Us pushing every umbrella stroller they had in stock. And I can say, there is not another umbrella stroller out there that can hold a candle to any MacLaren.
They are worth absolutely every penny. I love the Quest the best because of the recline feature and the supported footrest for my little one. The storage basket is much bigger than it looks in the picture and the fabric is creamy soft! The handles are comfy and the stroller isn't too low or too high for short me or my taller husband.
Every MacLaren comes with a rain cover, whereas most other strollers would have accessories like that sold separately.
What's stopping you? This stroller really is worth it!
